Koresh Dance Company Dancer’s Contract

2022 Spring Season

 

 This performance agreement, made this 23 day of November 2021 between Koresh Dance Company (the “Company”) and DANCER , (the “Dancer”) for the 2022 Spring performance season. The Spring 2022 performance season will begin on Monday, January 10, 2022 and will conclude on Sunday, May 29, 2022 (the “Contract Period”), with a possibility of ending few weeks earlier if our Home Season is rescheduled.

 The Company agrees to pay Dancer a salary of $AMOUNT per week, a week being Monday-Sunday, during the Contract Period. This salary covers all classes, rehearsals and performances by the company during the Contract Period. Salary will be paid bi-weekly every other Friday.


Rehearsal Schedule

Rehearsal schedule for the 2022 spring season will be 4 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) 10:30am-4:00pm (for specific weeks ONLY) starting week of January 10, 2022

Company Break #1: Week of February 25th- March 6th

Company Break #2: Week of April 25th- May 1st **TENTATIVE, depending if we are able to move the Home Season**

Home Season: Week of May 23rd- 29th (Highly likely it will be scheduled earlier in May)


Daily Rehearsal Schedule will be as follows:

10:30-11:30am | Technique Class, taught by a company dancer or Koresh School of Dance teacher

11:30am-12:00pm | Break

12:00-4:00pm | Rehearsal

Performances & Touring

Dancer agrees to be available for all shows and events the Company schedules during the Contract Period. Company rehearsal and performance schedules are subject to change. Updates to this 2022 touring schedule will be communicated as soon as bookings are confirmed.


The Company will notify Dancer of any January-May 2022 engagements as they come available. It is expected that the Dancer will be available for any spring dates unless communicated otherwise.


Dancer agrees that:

During the Contract Period, Dancer will attend scheduled company warm-up classes before each rehearsal, unless prior consent by the artistic director was given, or unless the dancer is injured. If injured, Dancer will be present at the studio for scheduled classes and rehearsals to observe.   

  1. During the Contract Period, if Dancer misses any scheduled classes or rehearsals without consent from the artistic director, the Company will deduct salary at a rate of $15 per hour. If Dancer misses more than three (3) rehearsals without consent from the artistic director, the Company reserves the right to terminate this contract. 

  2. During the Contract Period, Dancer will arrive at least 10 minutes prior to scheduled rehearsal times. If Dancer is tardy, deductions will be taken from salary in ½ hour increments at the rate of $15 per hour.

  3. During the Contract Period, Dancer will not engage in any outside performances without prior consent from the artistic director.

  4. During the Contract Period, Dancer will take four (4) company classes per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday mornings at 10:30am), unless otherwise noted.

  5. As a courtesy to the Company, Dancer will make Roni Koresh and the Company Manager (alon@koreshdance.org | pr@koreshdance.org) aware of any times they will be out of the Philadelphia area for an extend period outside of the Contract period.

  6. Dancer understands and agrees that all choreographic material created during the Contract Period belongs solely to Ronen Koresh and the Company. Dancer may not use any such choreographic material unless permission is given by Ronen Koresh and proper credit is received.

  7. Dancer will maintain a current passport and identification for the Contract Period.

  8.   Dancer understands that any frequent flyer miles or rental car mileage points gained while on tour with the Company are not to be used for personal travel and may only be redeemed by the Company.

  9. Dancer will participate in community outreach and any and all promotional activities undertaken by the Company. Dancer’s promotion obligation includes interviews for radio, newspaper, magazine, film and video, documentary, television, web sites, and all other media. All pictures, video, audio and film taken and/or recorded by personnel hired or secured by the Company remains the property of the Company. The Company reserves the right to use Dancer’s likeness, image, voice and the like for promotional use.

  10. Upon mutual agreement additional weeks or engagements may be added to this contract.  If additions are made, it is understood that the expectations outlined in this engagement will be extend to the new contract period.

  11. Dancer is a representative of Koresh Dance Company at all times when engaged in Company business.

  12.  Dancer represents that he/she is in good physical health. Any significant injury or chronic illness will be disclosed prior to entering into this contract. 

  13. It is the Dancers responsibility to save all receipts while touring for tax purposes.


Additional Clauses

Outside Commitments | Dancer will not commit to providing assistance or services to any Presenters, Company Board member, Company consultant or institutional funder of the Company without first discussing the proposed arrangement with Company’s Executive Director, Alon Koresh.

Force Majeure Clause | Company shall have the right to cancel any performances and/or rehearsals if in the company’s sole discretion these activities cannot or should not proceed, due in whole or in part to, armed conflict or the serious threat of the same (including but not limited to hostile attack, blockade, military embargo), hostilities, invasion, act of a foreign enemy, extensive military mobilization; civil war, riot, rebellion, revolution, military or usurped power, insurrection, civil commotion or disorder, mob violence, act of civil disobedience; act of terrorism, sabotage or piracy; plague, epidemic, pandemic, outbreaks of infectious disease or any other public health crisis, including quarantine or other employee restrictions or restrictions on public gatherings; act of authority whether lawful or unlawful, compliance with any law or governmental order, rule, regulation or direction, curfew restriction, expropriation, compulsory acquisition, seizure of works, requisition, nationalization; act of God or natural disaster such as but not limited to violent storm, cyclone, typhoon, hurricane, tornado, blizzard, earthquake, volcanic activity, landslide, tidal wave, tsunami, flood, damage or destruction by lightning, drought; explosion, fire, destruction of machines, equipment, factories and of any kind of installation, prolonged break-down of transport, telecommunication or electric current; general labor disturbance such as but not limited to boycott, strike and lock-out, go-slow, occupation of factories and premises; shortage or inability to obtain critical material or supplies to the extent not subject to the reasonable control of the subject Party (“Force Majeure Event”).


If Dancer does not comply with all of the above terms, the Company reserves the right to terminate this contract at any time. By our signatures below, Dancer and the Company agree to be bound by the above terms.
