The children's program at the Koresh School of Dance was established in 2004. Since then, the school has developed a reputation for outstanding training in a wide variety of styles. We offer classes for ages 2-18 in Mommy and Me, Creative Dance, Pre Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz, Modern, Ballet and Pointe. Our studio is located in Center City, a few blocks from Rittenhouse Square, and boasts two sprung-floor dance studios, large dressing rooms and a spacious lobby.
Our goal at Koresh is to create strong, versatile dancers who understand the value of training in various techniques. We aim to provide students with a fulfilling experience whether they want to become professional dancers or they simply enjoy dance. The school's exceptional instructors are able to create a professional and caring environment with an emphasis on technique, artistry, discipline, teamwork and persistence.
In 2008, we established a pre-professional training program - the Koresh Youth Ensemble. It was formed in order to give serious, young dancers greater opportunities for performance. It is a chance for talented students to show their commitment to dance and strive for excellence. Some of our students have gone on to train at top schools throughout the country including Boston Conservatory, SUNY Purchase, The University of the Arts, North Carolina School of the Arts and San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, among others.
