Since 1993 the Koresh School of Dance has offered classes in dance instruction. In 2004, we began our Children's Program, offering classes for youth ages 2-17. In 2007, our program was named Best of Philly by Philadelphia Magazine.
Our Center City studio at 2020 Chestnut Street boasts two sprung floor dance studios, large dressing rooms and a comfortable lobby. We offer children's classes seven days a week in a wide variety of movement instruction including Mommy & Me, Creative Movement, Pre Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz, Modern, Ballet and Pointe. Our instructors are widely regarded as some of the best in the city and many are still professional performers. Some of our students have gone on to train at top schools throughout the country including the Boston Ballet School, North Carolina School of the Arts and Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts.
In 2008 the Koresh Youth Ensemble was formed in order to give serious, young dancers greater opportunities for performance. Members have the opportunity to work with choreographers and teachers from various disciplines of dance including ballet, jazz, modern and hip hop. It is a chance for talented students to show their commitment to dance and strive for excellence in performance.
