Social Partner Dance
Koresh School of Dance
is excited to offer social partner dance classes with Roberto Rodriguez-Garcia.

Roberto Rodriguez-Garcia was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and at a young age began his dance training there. Upon his arrival in Philadelphia at age six, he continued his Latin dance training at Taller Puertorriqueno and incorporated acting classes to add intensity to his performances.

Roberto attended the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) where he received his first glimpse of Ballet; Modern, Jazz, Hip-Hop, African and Lyrical dance training, and became a member and choreographer in CAPA's dance company. Roberto graduated in June of 2003 with many awards and acknowledgements.

During high school, Roberto became a "Featured" performer at Traci Hall & Co., with whom he performed at many venues around Philadelphia, including the Kimmel Center and Philadelphia International Airport. He was also a member of the critically acclaimed Eleone Dance Theatre for 5yrs where he enjoyed a full performance schedule.

Roberto is not only known as a dancer, but also as a model. He is the proud titleholder of “Mr. Latino 2004” from the Ms. Latina/Mr. Latino Beauty Pageant in Philadelphia. He was the Principal Dancer and Dance Captain in the independentfilm  "Life Knocks, " a Philadelphia-based documentary focusing on lupus awareness.

robertoCurrently, Roberto is one of the head instructors at CAPA, teaching Latin Jazz and providing master dance workshops through out the Philadelphia School District. Roberto has made it a goal to return to his Puerto Rican roots and establish his name in the Latin dance world, just as he has in the Classical.
