introduction to ballet with eva

wednesday 6:00-7:30pm

Friday 5:00-6:30pm


Eva follows the Vaganova (Russian) technique with an emphasis on proper alignment, turnout, and port de bras. This class is perfect for students who have little to no dance experience and have a desire to learn Ballet technique. The class will move at a slow pace and introduce positions and terminology. No experience necessary!

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! An absolute beginning class that will introduce basic dance vocabulary and emphasizes proper posture, muscle development, flexibility, musicality, and grace of movement. Steps are introduced incrementally so that self-esteem and technique develop in a positive atmosphere. This class is highly recommended for first-time students and those who are unfamiliar with basic dance technique.


Eva Szabo was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary. She was accepted into the Hungarian National Ballet Institute in 1970, graduating with honors as part of the genesis of the Gyori Ballet. Retiring from the Gyori Ballet in 1988, she took her teaching diploma and her family to Philadelphia. She is currently teaching ballet at the Rock School for Dance Education and Koresh School of Dance. You can Eva’s profile in the Marquis Who’s Who in America book, 2010.
